DigiPi: A Powerful, Portable Data Transceiver for Ham Radio

DigiPi is a powerful and compact amateur radio data transceiver designed for Raspberry Pi, offering seamless access to various digital modes over Wi-Fi via a phone or web browser. This innovative device transforms traditional ham radio operations by enabling FT8, JS8Call, APRS, packet radio, Winlink email, and more—just like using a mobile app.

Ideal for portable and remote operations, DigiPi is lightweight and energy-efficient, making it perfect for Summits on the Air (SOTA) and Parks on the Air (POTA). With integrated features like an APRS WebChat interface, Winlink email support, Slow Scan TV, and AX.25 networking, it bridges the gap between traditional radio and modern digital communications.

DigiPi runs a pre-configured software suite, including Direwolf TNC, WSJTX, FLDigi, and a web-based management interface, ensuring easy setup and operation. Compatible with various Raspberry Pi models and multiple radio interfaces, it enhances the capabilities of any ham radio station.

### There are two different DigiPi builds depending on your radio setup:

• - **Type A (USB-Connected):** For radios with a USB port (e.g., Icom IC-7300, Yaesu 991, IC-705, Xiegu). You'll only need a Raspberry Pi and a compatible USB cable.
• - **Type B (PTT-Circuit):** For radios without a USB port (e.g., Yaesu FTM-400/300/200, Baofeng, HTs, Retevis). These require a radio interface adapter board and a properly wired cable for push-to-talk, audio in/out, and ground. Prefabricated cables are available from DigiRig.
