About

I'm most active on 20m and 40m, but I do sometimes go onto 10, 12, 15, 17, 30, and 80m. I'm also usually monitoring VHF calling while on my way to and from work, as well as local repeaters in the Kailua-Kona, HI area.

After getting my GMRS license in April of 2019, I further researched amateur radio after finding out about it on YouTube. I watched Josh KI6NAZ (Hoshnasi) from Ham Radio Crash Course, Ham Radio Tube, KB9VBR, and many more whose content pushed me to make the decision to take my technician test. It took quite a bit of encouragement from my wife to do it so I can finally talk on the air with new friends, but I finally earned my technician class license on November 9, 2019, my general class license on December 10, 2019, and my extra class license on April 2, 2022. I do not by any means regret my decision to go for it, learn, and take the tests, and I'm so glad I did it! I've met other hams that I now consider friends, and who are all willing to help out at any time, no matter the instance. I had the pleasure of volunteering as a VE with the Aurora Amateur Radio Group VE Team and everyone was quite welcoming and wonderful! I'm constantly looking for contacts with other hams. You can email me to connect for a contact, and I'll be happy to oblige!

In April of 2023, myself and a group of local amateur radio operators started the Spirit Mountain Amateur Radio Club - KS7MC in the Bullhead City, AZ area serving most of Mohave County, AZ. Our goals are to grow and maintain the amateur radio hobby, engage with the community, and build upon our skills by elmering others. We meet on the first Saturday of each month at 10am MST on Zoom. We as a club are a member of the Amateur Radio Council of Arizona and are affiliated with the ARRL. There is much more to come, and we really look forward to growing this small group into a large community!

I'm open to change, conversation, new ideas, and help. If you have a suggestion, let me know.

Best wishes, and 73!
